Gemstone We Love This Week: Pink Coral

Why do we love it: Pink coral has a mild, sweet, feminine shade of orangey pink. It is the friendliest color we’ve ever seen.

Where is it from: Mostly the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Australia, the South Pacific, the waters of Japan, and Africa.

What’s it made of: Once thought to be a plant, coral is actually an animal called a polyp that lives on the surface ocean floor. Coral is the accumulated skeletal masses from these polyps, and its actually chemically similar to pearls. Who knew?

Magical property: Coral is associated with having good health, and it is believed when worn it wards off diseases and illnesses. Pink coral is especially good for restoring harmony to heart. It is the healing stone

Fun Fact: Dreaming of coral means you will recover from your sickness.
